Dear BizX Member,

BizX's purpose is "to make businesses and individuals more efficient and properous" beyond our day-to-day business activities. One of the many ways we accomplish this is by working with, and encouraging our members to suport our charitable organization members. We currently have 12 charitable or non-profit members. A benefit of BizX is the ability to donate to charities using BizX dollars, rather than cash, which gives full value to the charity while conserving the donating members' resources.

The BizX community has given me reason to be proud and inspired over the course of our history and most recently, one of our partner exchanges located in Connecticut, reach out and asked us to join in their support of Newton Connecticut following the tragic shooting in the elementary school. We were proud to bring this cause to our members and they did not disappoint.

BizX members generously donated over $28,000 with BizX matching the first $20,000, for a BizX total of over $48,000. Our donations have been combined with other contributions throughout the trade exchange community and now total over $214,000. Contributions have been given to The Cove, a support group concept program that works to help children, teens and families work through their unresolved grief due to death or other traumatic losses.

The Board of Directors of The Cove recently announced that they have met and exceeded their fundraising goal for a new site in Fairfield County, which will provide necessary services to the Newton Connecticut victims' families. A search is currently under way to locate a usable site for this facility.

I'd like to take this opportunity to personally thank the BizX community for their generous support of this, and other local charities. I'm proud to be part of such a dynamic community.
