What a way to close out the 2017 year! Over the course of the year, the BizX community raised an astounding $389,576.19 BizX dollars for the charities and non-profits in the community. To finish the year strong, BizX is donating 1% of all transactions from the month of December, and allocating those funds to fuel philanthropic initiatives in our communities throughout 2018 and all the years to come!
This was the second year in a row BizX ran the campaign; the initiative began in 2016 with a thought from BizX co-founder, Bob Bagga, "At BizX, we are a purpose-driven organization. Above all else, our purpose is to improve the lives and businesses of our members, and, in doing so, enrich our local communities. How can we at BizX realize our our purpose to give back this holiday season, and act as a catalyst for our members to do the same?"The answer was the Giving December Campaign. Members of the BizX community who spent their BizX dollars during the month of December were directly contributing to the chartitable initiative and supporting their local communities. BizX in turn, stepped up to donate 1% of all transactions for the month, resulting in an amazing contribution to so many worthy causes.
Charity makes up a critical part of the BizX community and supporing them does not end in the month of December. BizX has raised and contributed over $1 million BizX dollars to more than 40 charities and non-profits engaged in the network, including the American Red Cross, the Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer, Boys & Girls Clubs and Habitat for Humanity. For these groups, BizX plays a vital role as they work to accomplish their purpose.
By accepting donations in BizX dollars, these non-profits are able to offset burdensome operational expenses and keep more cash focused on helping those in need. Because every BizX dollar that a business earns represents new sales through the network, BizX members are able to donate their BizX dollars freely without hurting their bottom line. In this way, BizX is an accelerant to the good work done by our charity partners and our for-profit members alike. A true WIN-WIN.
