“BizXchange is a great way to use the excess capacity that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to sell.”
The skepticism Don Asher felt when first joining BizXchange has long surpassed. He knew that most companies on BizXchange could take advantage of printing and was afraid he would not be able to spend the amount of BizX he earned. But four years (and one BMW motorcycle) later, there is no doubt he can fulfill his business needs and receive extras for his personal life.
Asher is the third owner of his family’s company, Golden Gate Litho, a full-service printing company that is a designated “Green Business” by the Bay Area Green Business Program.
Golden Gate Litho has been open for 73 years and is the oldest printer in Oakland. They provide digital and offset printing and in-house die cutting, finishing and fulfillment.
Asher received a BizX mailing in 2006 and met with a BizX sales representative. After hearing about the legitimacy of the company and the wide variety of uses, he was sold. The initial attraction was that BizXchange provided any opportunity for him to maximize his underutilized capacity. He knew that BizX could provide an additional sales channel to keep his machines working at all times.
“If you have capacity and resources that aren’t being used at 100 percent, why not put them to use?” Asher said. “BizXchange is a great way to use the excess capacity that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to sell.”
Asher has found a number of ways to spend his BizX. He regularly saves cash on business necessities including toner, ink and janitorial service and has made investment purchases for his business including a phone system.
He has also found ways to use BizX to treat his employees, family and himself. “There were things I bought that would have cost me a big chunk of change, which I would have had to think twice about spending in this economy,” Asher said. These include tickets to Golden State Warriors games, season tickets for an Oakland Raiders suite and other gifts for family and employees.
And when Asher was looking for a new motorcycle, he turned to his Account Executive at BizXchange. Together they found a BMW K 1200 GT at Destination Harley Davidson in Tacoma, WA. To say Asher is pleased with his purchase is an understatement. “I want to say thanks to my Account Executive,” Asher said. “He said he’d find me a bike and he did. I’m pretty happy.”
Asher said BizX is a great way for companies to maximize their resources and increase sales. He is a great example of how members can use their BizX for both business expenses and personal perks.
