Craig Clampitt, owner of Clampitt's Cleaners, initially learned about
BizXchange during a meeting of local business
owners and managers. It was another
dry cleaner, Dick Pakko of Four Seasons
Cleaners, that introduced him to barter
based on his success within the exchange.
Clampitt is a fan of BizX not only because
he gets additional revenue that he wouldn't
have otherwise had, but also because of the
large variety of high-quality businesses he
can purchase from. "There aren't any BizX
members that we've had a bad experience
with," he says. "BizX checks out their
members, so you know you will be dealing
with professionals."
Marketing services are one of the more
notable purchases that Clampitt has made
with his BizX. By distributing professionally
produced brochures, Clampitt's
has been able to dramatically increase the
amount of revenue earned from their pickup
and delivery service. "Because of the
advantages of being in BizXchange,
we were able to do some things
we wouldn't have normally done,"
says Clampitt about his marketing
program.
Another way that Clampitt's was
able to use BizX to improve their
business came when they moved
their Bellevue location. Not only
did they offset considerable cash
costs by using BizX members for
the plumbing and electrical work,
but they also installed granite countertops,
new flooring and signage to
improve the look and feel of the new
location.
Even though many of the employees
at Clampitt's have been with the
company for a long period of time, Craig
Clampitt still recognizes the need to reward
and retain good employees by offering
competitive benefits. His future plans
include using his BizX to offer a variety of
employee incentives. This will help him to
attract and retain quality employees while
staying competitive in the market.
